A former Leicestershire Police officer is to appear in court charged with misconduct in public office.
Jeremy Jayne, who held the rank of temporary detective inspector when he left the force earlier this year, is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Friday, July 8.
The offence is alleged to have happened while the 48-year-old was employed by the force in October 2011, Leicestershire Police said today.
