Heartless thieves smashed their way into a playgroup building, damaging doors and windows and taking cash, valuables and even the children's sweets.
The break-in happened at Thurnby and Bushby Playgroup, based at St Luke's Primary School in Main Street, Thurnby, some time between Thursday night and Friday morning.

Playgroup leader Kerri Le-Butt said: "It's horrible anyone can do this.

"It's shocking whenever something like this happens but it just feels like such a violation because there are pictures of the children all over the walls and these people just didn't care - they went around smashing things and taking the children's sweets."
Items taken in the burglary included a camera and camera equipment, which also had a memory card full of treasured pictures of the youngsters, aged thee and four, who attend the playgroup.
About £200 in cash was also taken from the premises as well as other things including a can of coffee.
Kerri said: "The Memorial Hall was being used as a polling station all night until 10pm on Thursday night so it must have happened after that.
"There are three windows broken in total with one having had the whole pane pulled out and another having all the locks and fittings broken.
"We will have a big insurance excess to pay for everything."

She said the burglars tried to get from the toilets into the locked office by climbing through the roof space.
But after causing damage to the ceiling tiles they apparently gave up and kicked their way through a narrow pane of safety glass in the locked office door.
Kerri said: "They made a real mess.
"I arrived early on Friday morning and saw what had happened.
"I went to the school gates to tell all the parents what was happening and that we wouldn't be open and they were really understanding."
She said the way people had rallied round the playgroup and lifted her spirits.
She said: "When something like this happens you wander how people can be such scumbags.
"But our committee chair, Emma Freeman, set up a crowd funding page and it's got hundreds of pounds already.
"That really restores your faith in people."
A police spokeswoman confirmed the break-in was under investigation.
She said: "We were called at 7.50am on Friday to a report of a break-in at a premises in Main Street, Thurnby.
"No arrests have been made and we would appeal for anyone with information to get in touch by calling us on 101."
