Cases at Leicester Magistrates' Court

Cases heard before Leicester Magistrates' Court include:

Jason Moore (34), of Comet Close, Fosse Park, was given a 13-week jail sentence, suspended for 18 months, after pleading guilty to producing 13 cannabis plants on November 28. The sentence also covered an offence of possessing cannabis on the same date. He was put under a two-month electronically-monitored curfew to remain indoors at home between 7pm and 7am, given a rehabilitation activity requirement to attend appointments or participate in activities when required for up to 20 days and ordered to pay an £80 victim surcharge. An order was made for the plants and all drug-related equipment to be destroyed.

Moore also pleaded guilty to using a vehicle without third party insurance in Nook Street, Leicester, on November 28. He was banned from driving for six months.

Moore also pleaded guilty to possessing amphetamine on November 28 and was jailed for four weeks concurrent, suspended for 18 months.

Piotr Adam Wos (23), of Imperial Avenue, Westcotes, pleaded guilty to driving in Fosse Road North, Leicester, on January 18 with 81mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The limit is 35mcg. He was fined £400 with a £40 victim surcharge, £85 costs and was banned from driving for 17 months.

Louis Mark Ducharme (26), of Mulberry Avenue, Braunstone Frith, pleaded guilty to stealing meat worth £44 from the Co-op, Leicester, on December 5.

He was jailed for eight weeks, suspended for 18 months, and was ordered to have 12 months' treatment for drug dependency and given a rehabilitation activity requirement to attend appointments or take part in activities when required for up to 20 days.

Ducharme was ordered to pay £44 compensation and an £80 victim surcharge. He also pleaded guilty to stealing: meat worth £50 from Sainsbury's, Leicester, on November 15; miscellaneous items worth £120 from Sainsbury's, Leicester, on December 1; meat worth £25 from Sainsbury's, Leicester, on December 26 and meat worth £30 from the Co-op, Coalville, on December 27.

He was jailed for eight weeks, suspended for 18 months, for each offence and ordered to pay the value of each stolen item in compensation.

Richard Henderson (49), of Rowanberry Avenue, Braunstone Frith, was given a 12-month conditional discharge for three thefts from the Co-op, in Hinckley Road, Leicester. These were: Six packets of chicken breasts worth £30 on February 7; four packets of steak worth £20, two laundry items and a jar of coffee worth £15, both on February 5. He was ordered to pay the value of each item in compensation.
